In Need Of Some Marketing Engines

I was wondering how I could have people visit my web site without doing the tedious things of creating advertisements and selling the whole thing all over the internet because quite honestly, I do not have the liberty to do such things because of limited resources and limited time. What I do is I sell electronic books, of course via the internet and at first I was able to get a pretty decent number of visitors to my web page, but the problem is, basing from my statistics, the ratio off people buying electronic books from my web site is two is to one hundred. And right now, since I have very limited number of people checking out my website, I just could not get the revenue that I should be getting because I only have a handful of people patronizing my products.
Then my uncle advised that I should try to get some ecommerce marketing help from the internet that handles search engine optimization for ecommerce web sites. He said that it is what their company is using right now and it saves them a lot in advertizing because people all over the internet gets to their web site without doing commercials since somebody else is doing the ecommerce web site marketing for them. I guess I should try this since I have no other ideas left…
