Choosing Web Hosts and Domain Names

Choosing a good web host server is practically like choosing which phone lines we get for our landline or mobile phones. The coverage that we try to get for our web site is similar to the type of cellphone plans we try to get, depending on our needs. When choosing a web host server, it is important that you know how much space do your web site would need so you can have it running at all times, without running out of memory.

If your web site will not have a lot of graphics and would mostly just be texts, it may not be necessary to get the unlimited web space, since you won’t be able to use it anyway. Like in phone lines, you do not have to get the plan with the longest hour of free voice calls if you don’t even call anyone that often. Choosing a domain name is also similar to which at&t phones would you like to buy.

Of course, when coming up with a domain name, you would always want to be creative and make sure that you have a catchy name that would make people easily remember it. In phones, most of the time, we try to make sure that the unit we get matches our own personalities.

Do I Change Connections?

Posted by admin Web Hosting Wednesday 4 February 2009 12:43 am

I am trying to find out if satellite internet would be a good way to go for me instead of getting the normal DSL. The reason for this is because my satellite TV provider is offering a nice package for a satellite internet service and I am a little tempted to try it since I just moved and I can’t get my DSL company to have a connection transfer because they said they don’t do service in my new place. My satellite provider told me that if I get their service, they will give me the satellite dish for free and I won’t have to pay for the installation and calibration. The best part with HughesNet is that they are offering it in a very affordable price because I already have a satellite TV connection with them.

Although my main concern here is the problems that I might get if I go for a satellite internet connection. I am just worried that I might get the same thing as with my satellite TV whenever it is a cloudy or rainy day. I heard that Hughes would be my best option for this. Basing on my experience, I always end up just reading some books or browsing the internet whenever it’s raining because I can never rely on my TV when the rain starts to fall…
